This is useful to run relevant marketing campaigns or even just to know your customers better. Let&#8217;s see how this works with an example.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have created a simple quiz recommending products based on the favorite color of the respondent. On the screenshot below, you can see that in the &#8220;Customer tags&#8221; tab, I am assigning a &#8220;purple-lover&#8221; tag or a &#8220;green-lover&#8221; tag based on the respondent&#8217;s answer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"971\" height=\"461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-11.jpg 1896w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-11-300x143.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-11-1024x487.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-11-768x365.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-11-1536x730.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 971px) 100vw, 971px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, I can go to the &#8220;Integrations&#8221; section of the quiz and add the &#8220;Shopify Customers&#8221; integration. Please note that your quiz must collect at least an email address or a phone number to be able to add it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"271\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-2.jpg 1428w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-2-300x130.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-2-1024x445.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-2-768x333.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the popup that just opened, I can select the marketing consent statuses for email and SMS marketing (as you can see on the screenshot below).<\/p>\n<p>You can select a consent status among :<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Not subscribed<\/strong>. This means that the customer has not agreed to receive marketing messages.<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Subscribed &#8211; Single opt-in<\/strong>. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/shopify.dev\/docs\/api\/admin-graphql\/2023-04\/enums\/CustomerMarketingOptInLevel\">Shopify&#8217;s documentation<\/a>, this means that the customer receives marketing information without any intermediate step.<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Subscribed &#8211; Confirmed opt-in<\/strong>. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/shopify.dev\/docs\/api\/admin-graphql\/2023-04\/enums\/CustomerMarketingOptInLevel\">Shopify&#8217;s documentation<\/a>, this means that the customer receives a confirmation and is required to perform an intermediate step before receiving marketing information.<\/p>\n<p>As Shopify mentioned, the opt-in levels are defined in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.m3aawg.org\/sites\/maawg\/files\/news\/M3AAWG_Senders_BCP_Ver3-2015-02.pdf\">the M3AAWG best practices guideline document<\/a>. Depending on your country&#8217;s laws, you may or may not be required to use a certain opt-in level : please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/help.shopify.com\/en\/manual\/promoting-marketing\/create-marketing\/customer-contact-information\">Shopify&#8217;s guide about collecting contact information<\/a> for more details on this subject.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-29 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-33-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"488\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-33-1.jpg 748w, https:\/\/www.veeform.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/tag-33-1-300x264.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In my example, I&#8217;ve selected &#8220;Subscribed &#8211; Single opt-in&#8221; for email and &#8220;Not subscribed&#8221; for SMS.<\/p>\n<p>I hit &#8220;Save&#8221; and I install my quiz on my website.
